Stop the Tory Train Rip-Off

Labour Party members were out at stations across the borough this morning to campaign against the rise in fares under the Coalition Government.

Members were at stations across the borough, including Enfield Town, Enfield Lock, Palmers Green, Edmonton Green and Arnos Grove (pictured.)

One resident said "It's shocking that the Government allows companies to contunie to raise prices even though families are struggling to pay bills" before adding "I will be signing up to this campaign and the pledge to freeze energy prices!"

Council Leader Doug Taylor, who was out with volunteers at Enfield Town station said "It's simply unfair to ask people to pay more for travel when peoples incomes haven't risen for years" he added "as a Council we have done everything we can to help people in these tough times such as freezing Council Tax."
